There is a new photo meme or challenge called Cats on Tuesday where you submit a photo of your cat(s) and a story to go with it.

I'll introduce you to the girls. They were eight in August and they think they are humans. They were found on a boat and as soon as they were discovered, the mother disappeared, so when they first opened their eyes, they saw humans not cats.

The one in the foreground is Ms. MacKenzie but we call her Kenz. Her sister in the background is Chicky Bella. My kids named her Chicky and call her that. I named her Bella and call her that. No, she is not confused.

Rust

The soil on Prince Edward Island is rust-coloured. It comes from a lot of iron oxide in the soil which rusts on contact with the air. This photo is taken near sunset so the rust colour is much more saturated than normal.

Cat in a Hat

Clarke has been missing since 01 August and I got a call this week that someone had found him. I immediately investigated but to no avail. It wasn't him. I am really glad I have hundreds of photos of him and have a chance to show them to someone else once in a while. Also Kenz needs a break from all that posing and Bella doesn't appreciate photography at all.

Moonlight

A Leather-Bound Book

It took me a few days to get the leather-bound book for this challenge. I had to arrange to visit my friend who's life is old leather books. He cleans them, restores them, makes new ones out of old ones, and is generally surrounded by them. I could choose only one for this challenge but I've put several photos up on my other Blogger photoblog, Pictures and Pursuits. My friend has shelves and shelves of them and what was once someone's old book ready for the dump is now a beautiful piece of art.
